Workshop tips
MOT reminders that actually bring customers back
Every car you service has an MOT date — a guaranteed reason to come back. Track it, remind on time by SMS or email, and measure who returns.

Getting a new customer through the door is expensive. Getting an old one back is nearly free — and every car you've ever serviced carries a guaranteed reason to return: its MOT date. The workshops that grow aren't chasing strangers; they're simply the ones who remember their customers' deadlines.
The date is captured once, with the vehicle
In Garageflow every vehicle carries its MOT expiry alongside the plate, the history and the owner's contact details. No separate list, no notebook page titled ‘call in March’. The date gets captured during a normal visit — and from then on the system tracks it for you.
Reminders go out on time, on the channel that gets read
When the expiry approaches, the customer gets a reminder by email or SMS — and an SMS about a legal deadline is the kind of message that actually gets opened. The tone writes itself: not an advert, a favour. You're the workshop that saved them from driving illegally, not the one spamming discounts.
The expiry report shows who's due, so nobody slips through
The MOT expiry report lists every customer whose test is due soon — this week, this month, the period you choose. Front desk can run through it Monday morning, or you can schedule it to land in your inbox automatically, daily, weekly or monthly. A booking made from that list costs you one look at a report.
And you can measure whether it works
Retention stops being a feeling: the reports show how many customers in a period are returning versus new. Watch that number move after you switch reminders on — that's the whole case for them, in one figure. A full bay in MOT season isn't luck; it's a list, a reminder and a calendar doing their jobs.
